Okay, from the outset you're going to have to commit to some broadband consuming patience to get the best effect of the
Digital Symphony conceived by
Darren Soloman from
Science For Girls, and conducted by none other than You. The concept is simple, choose a key to work in (Bb Major as it happens), get the public to submit some airy tunes on their madly diverse instruments, and spread them all out in a tidy pile for you to activate. The result is addictive, and beautiful.
If you can manage to get even four or five of the instruments playing, you'll start to get that great feeling of making something sound intriguing by mixing and pausing and replaying each musical sample. The endless combination of instruments is the second wave of excitement, as you find out what a distorted guitar, clarinet and Nintendo DS sound like together. Not bad as it happens.
If you've got some spare megabytes to chew through, and a speedy network, I would definitely give this a few minutes.
